88 Vineyards

Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

We source our grapes from the Western Cape in South Africa, a region with 350 years of winemaking history. It boasts a rich variety of soils, topography and climate, conditions that give the fruit both structure and depth, producing an exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon that balances old-world elegance with the bright expressive fruit typical of the new world.

Careful cellar handling allows the wine to reveal its full character. Gentle fermentation and maturation in French oak barrels enhance the richness of the fruit, adding hints of dark chocolate, coffee grind and the subtle herbaceous complexity of fynbos, South Africa’s unique indigenous shrubs. The result is a powerful and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon that is rich, layered and lingering.

The number 88 has always brought us good fortune from vineyard to bottle. Vibrant and vigorous, our Cabernet Sauvignon bursts with blackcurrant and black cherry, complemented by subtle notes of herb, dark chocolate and coffee, framed by finely-honed tannins. Fortune has never tasted this good.
