About Cederberg:

Cederberg Wine is owned by the Nieuwoudt family who have been farming for five generations since 1893. At an altitude of more than 1000 metres above sea level Cederberg wine is South Africa’s highest winery.

The cool continental climate with snow in the winter and north westerly breezes in the hot summers; combined with several soil types, unpolluted air and crystal clear waters make this dramatic landscape ideal terroir for a wide range of noble wines. There are 52 hectares under wine, 50% white, 50% red varietals. All grapes are picked by hand. Cederberg is situated in one of eight core conservation areas in Western Cape, South Africa.

David Nieuwoudt sums it up beautifully: “I want people to drink my wines and think about these mountain ranges, unique and untouched”.
